Today, the demand for smart phones and notebooks is requiring more compact, more stylish, and even ultra-light or ultra-thin products. In the past, the bodies of smart phones and notebooks were made by metal stamping and molding machines. However, the traditional metal stamping and molding technology cannot meet the demanding requirements of ultra-body fabrication. To satisfy customer needs, the modern CNC carving machines have replaced metal stamping and molding machines to become the preferred choice for ultra-body fabrication.
The manufacturing process for CNC ultra-body fabrication starts with an extruded block of aluminum that is carved out by using CNC carving machines. Each solid piece of aluminum is precisely machined into a high quality and high precision ultra-body design. After multiple CNC milling operations, a complete ultra-body takes shape. No matter shape, intensity, thickness, design changes and surface treatment, this kind of CNC ultra-body fabrication process can be selected for a favorable strength-to-weight ratio and the flexibility it offers in processing and finishing. Once the processes are
complete, the edges of the ultra-body are rounded and polished (see the figure below).
